Thank you for signing up to compete in the 2nd annual Twisted Fork. We’re excited to share the trails and course with you and we hope you enjoy your time in Park City with your friends and family.
We have created a Google map of the race course named Twisted Fork. You can access this map from our web page at www.twistedforkultra.com or directly from Google Maps. We have made one change at the start of the course to avoid a bottleneck and wet feet. The race itself will begin inside the Basin Recreation Field House and we’ll exit the large rolling doors on the East side right onto the trail. Originally you were going to exit the building and then immediately take the trail under the highway to get from the South side to the North side where you would enter the trail at the Spring Creek trailhead.
Now you will exit the Basin Recreation Field House, make a left and then a right turn onto the path along the frontage road 25 meters from the Field House. You’ll run on the path for .5 miles East and duck under the highway via an underpass. You’ll then make a left turn and run back .5 miles on the North side of Highway 80 to the Spring Creek Trailhead.
This new start will give everyone time to spread out, avoid a bottle neck and keep your feet dry. You will however gain 1 mile on the course but it’s worth it to avoid stacking up on one another.
Friday June 28th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Hyatt Place Park City, 4377 N Highway N 224, Park City, UT 84098
Day of Race / Start
The Basin Recreation Field House will be accessible starting at 5:00 AM for all competitors and family and the race itself will begin inside the Field House at 6:00 AM.
Once you arrive you will need to pickup your timing chip which will be worn on your ankle. One of the many things that we love about this start location is that it’s inside, warm, dry, has bathrooms and plenty of space for everyone to get ready for the race. We will have a place to leave a bag (drop bag) for the finish line so feel free to dress as warmly as you like. Just bring a bag to place your items in and leave it with us. We’ll have it waiting at the finish line for you.
You must have your timing chip on you for the entire race. There are 20 checkpoints along the course and we will be broadcasting a live feed of your position during the race. This is also how we will establish the winners of the King and Queen Of The Mountain and our Men’s and Women’s Sprint champions.
***Failure to register a time at any of the checkpoints will result in disqualification so if you loose your timing chip during the race be sure to report it at the next aid station***

Family / Crew
One of the great things about this course is that’s it’s very accessible to family, friends and crew. If a family member would like to see you on as much of the course as possible we recommend having them head from the start of the race to the Glenwild aid station. From there they can take their time and make their way over to the Jeremy Ranch aid station. From the Jeremy Ranch aid station they can follow or meet you along the 3 mile dirt road section. Just don?t have them block traffic.
They can see you next at Mormon Flat aid station and then at the Big Mountain aid station. From there they can drive back to see you again at the Jeremy ranch aid station and then at the finish. There many restaurants for your family to choose from as well as grocery stores should you need anything.
We are excited to partner with Hyatt Place Park City and they have generously offered competitors a lodging rate of $135/night.
Not only is the Hyatt Place a great property for you and your family to stay at, but the owner is also an Ultra runner and is running Twisted Fork along with you!
